Building an antenna analyser (2010)
I love to experiment with antenna’s and for that reason I built the VK5JST antenna analyser.
Halfway the building process : the coils (the green resistor like parts) , each for one of the frequency ranges, are ready to be mounted onto the PCB.
After various measurements and setting up al kinds of parameters, everything is ready to be boxed (left). Looking at the analyser’s display, my FD4 windom antenna which is in the attic, seems to be spot on for 7.1 MHz. I’m satisfied with my new toy !
(in 2016 I added the RigExpert AA-55 Zoom antenna analyser to my toolbox, being able to measure more complex antenna systems)
